We are starting to update the website with new images to showcase the detail and artwork of the various pieces starting with the Javanese Kraton page.
Some revisions to the Balinese legong figures are also being done.
We have been rather busy making masters and castings to launch several new sets and SERIES!
We are launching a new gamelan siteran orchestra set which is based on a plucked stringed siter instrument. This orchestra had been on the backburner for some time ever since we produced the lovely casting of the celempung instrument. This is a compact gamelan siteran orchestra, meant for the common folk, without incurring the expenses of a full-fledged gamelan gong orchestra. As this is largely a Javanese creation, it will be placed within Series B. Naturally, we offer a Javanese Kraton version of this set as well.

Furthermore, to create the motley look of the common folk, there is more variety in colour with the musicians being depicted either bare-chested or wearing grey/brown jackets, generally wearing Indian tradecloth and simple batik sarongs, to distinguish them from the more formal Kraton musicians wearing black jackets and central Javanese batik sarongs.

Note the new castings of a simple musician (without keris), as well as new heads to represent common folk
A new kneeling musician more suited to playing the celempung has also been created.

Women are, of course, represented here and they wear colourful sarongs. Even the ladies are wearing Central Javanese sarongs. Note the new female head with a fuller hairdo.

A couple of new Javanese courtiers castings have been done and we can now offer a set as follows:
SET B1a Javanese Kraton Susuhunan/Sultan ceremonial
Painting the figures in batches allows for some interesting variations in stylistic patterns to occur. For example, the tradecloth motifs are quite fun to do, colourful and appear to convey a common look to the musicians. The Javanese courtiers and musicians are also now represented with more batik patterns, including Kawung and Parang Rusak. There is also more intermixing of castings between Series A and Series B, resulting in even further variations.
We proudly announce the launch of two new SERIES based on new castings representing seated and robed figures with various heads and arm positions. Further cross-fertilisation will allow even more cultures to be further explored.
Finally, part of a specific order for several Balinese sets Legong/Kebyar, Baris and Wayang Kulit to be boxed together, and with the pieces to be tied with wire for ease of removal, has resulted in an exclusive Balinese Fantasy set.
