We have re-launched our Wayang Kulit sets, starting with Set B4aJ Javanese Wayang Kulit Puppets. Each set will have 24 different puppets painted in a variety of colours. These sets are truly unique and will make spectacular displays.

 

There will be at least three versions:-

 

Series A - Set A4a Balinese Wayang Kulit Puppets

Series B - Set B4aJ Javanese Wayang Kulit Puppets

Series B - Set B4aJK Javanese Kraton Wayang Kulit Puppets

 

The versions will differ based on the castings and painting used for the puppeteer and the assistant figures.

The style of the Javanese puppeteers has been finalized and we are painting these in typical Javanese sarong patterns. They wear typical kain iket (head cloth). Note that the Javanese puppeteers without keris are different castings from the Javanese kraton figures (with keris).

 

The Wayang Kulit puppets are brass-etched pieces exclusively designed and created by Golden Chersonese Miniatures. There are 10 different silhouettes. The following picture shows a selection of the pieces mounted on wires and painted. A typical Wayang Kulit set has about 250 puppets!
